As Hair Code’s owner and Master Stylist, I keep a close pulse on the industry’s shifting trends. My highest values, connection, learning and creativity, blend seamlessly for never-ending inspiration. I provide professional service and consistent results at the highest level by engaging in genuine rapport, proper consultation, and skillful execution.
I entered the professional beauty industry in 2003, near my hometown of Boston. I acquired numerous haircutting techniques created by Paul Mitchell, Vidal Sassoon and Toni & Guy platform artists. To advance my first passion, men’s grooming, I trained with various Master Barbers. In 2005, I honed the art of color with Redken and still attend advanced training classes at the Exchange in New York City. I later acquired hair design with Unite through their creative classes and attended Global Sessions in London 2015 to learn basic, advanced, on-trend, avant-garde and runway techniques.
Customizing hair to every individual is very important to me. In middle school, I watched my older brother cry after getting haircuts. No one knew how to cut his hair because it wasn’t a traditional texture. It killed his confidence. Once I took up styling, I saw how my clients’ self-confidence would transform after getting a customized cut, as if unlocked by a magic code. The core of my work is delivering this experience, time and time again.
I live with my husband in New Jersey; together, we enjoy family time, playing with our dog, Emiko, and travelling as much as possible. We are ultimate foodies! Our favorite thing is trying new food and drinks at different places; when not dining out, I love cooking at home.
I’ve always found myself to be creative and innovative. Ever since I was young, I knew the hair industry was for me. I am proud to say that I am a Parisian Beauty Academy Alumni! Despite COVID, I was able push through and completed my studies virtually. Of course there were times that were tough, but I never gave up. My passion and drive for beauty is like no other, and it is a childhood dream to one day open a salon of my own.
Working in the hair industry gives me the opportunity to express myself, and an outlet to create artwork that has my flair to it. It’s extremely rewarding to see the ecstatic expression on my client’s faces when they see the finished product!
A quirk about me is that I can create a three leaf clover with my tongue. When I am not working, I love to cook, draw, paint, and “Netflix and chill”. It is a way for me to decompress – enjoying the things I love to do most, especially cooking because I love FOOD.
